M as milestone: The Leica M10-P, like the Leica M10, impresses with its compact dimensions, improved performance and even more intuitive operation.
The top of the M10-P is just 33.75 millimeters deep and thus four millimeters thinner than that of her sister Leica M (type 240). This makes the Leica M10-P the slimmest digital M ever.
In addition, a new shutter was installed which is almost noiseless. This makes it the quietest digital or analogue Leica camera ever built.
New touchscreen controls such as wiping and pinch zoom.
The Leica M10-P takes the traditional understatement of the M series to a new level. It is appreciated by connoisseurs and experts details, on the basis of which it differs from the M10: Conspicuously inconspicuous is the extremely quiet closure - a not to be underestimated trifle, which can decide in discrete situations about the difference between a good and the perfect picture.
The prominent red dot on the front, masked by many professionals for reasons of inconspicuousness, is eliminated and replaced by a discreet Leica logo on the top cap. Moreover, the fact that the Leica M10-P meets the same, highest standards in terms of material and workmanship as its sister models is obvious and makes it the first choice of all those who love something special.
The main component of the Leica M10-P is the 24 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor designed specifically for the camera. It has new technologies that lead to significant improvements in all imaging-related parameters: impressive dynamic range, excellent contrast reproduction, exceptional sharpness, and the finest detail resolution.
The new sensor design of the Leica M10-P has made it possible to extend the ISO sensitivity range to values between 100 and 50,000 and to achieve significantly improved noise characteristics even when shooting at higher ISO values.
For the Leica M10-P, several important aspects of this legendary combined search and rangefinder system have been further enhanced. To improve the view of the subject, the field of view was increased by 30% and the magnification factor increased by 0.73. In addition, the distance of the eye socket was significantly increased. With a 50% magnification of this distance, the viewfinder is much more convenient to use, especially for photographers wearing glasses.
Thanks to 2 GB of buffer memory and continuous shooting at up to five frames per second at full resolution, photographers no longer miss the decisive moment.
The latest-generation Leica Maestro II image processor of the Leica M10-P reflects the latest in state-of-the-art processor technology. In combination with the new 24-MP sensor, this ensures that all images fulfill the promise of Leica: images that impress with their exceptional quality and brilliance. As a result, the Leica M10 delivers images with low digital noise levels and lifelike details, even at ISO values of up to 50,000.
Thanks to the solid brass components, the high strength of the magnesium alloy full metal housing and the scratch-resistant Corning® Gorilla® Glass of the M-10 are designed to withstand the rigors of everyday life and provide the photographer with lasting pleasure. Additional protection against light showers, dust and bad weather are provided by special rubber seals.
