To commemorate the 100th birthday of Leica inventor and constructor Oskar Barnack in 1979 Leica produced limited edition models of the then current Leica R3 and Leica M4-2.
Both cameras were made with a 24 carat gold plated surface, the body was covered with black lizard skin leather and the both models were engraved with a facsimile of Oskar barnacks signature and the year 1879-1979. The lens delivered with both models was the Summilux 1,4/50mm which was partly gold plated.
Both models were delivered in a wooden mahogany presentation box including certificate of autheticity.
The Leica R3 Gold offered here is marked with limited editon number 100-067 and comes with matching Summilux-R 1,4/50mm no. 2932308 in the mahogany presentation box.
Unfortunately the certificate of authenticity and the original box is missing.
